We left the parsnips in the fridge this year! Also left the yorkshires but that was because the plates were full enough.

we found our yorkshires in the oven (fortunately not still cooking!) at 9 last night, we do it every year, this year we were determined not too!

I thought we'd done pretty well, but it seems we forgot to get some piccalilli in for today's cold cuts and chips, plus the layer of custard in the trifle was a little thinner than usual. Ah well, must do better next year...

As per usual I too forgot I was only cooking for 3 and cooked enough for 8.
I forgot to get out the prawns from the freezer to defrost, so had to microwave them.
I also forgot the stuffing, I hardly ever have it but really fancied it this year. It was only when I was cutting up the turkey leftovers later that I spotted it.

This made me laugh as we forgot the parsnips this year!

Not a thing! We had been planning Christmas since early October. As my MIL has been extremely unwell this year (she normally does lunch) we set too and organised a buffet instead - all from Waitrose and everybody loved it - chicken, ham and pork pie, prawns with dip, little Orkney dressed crab, Gruyere and caramalised onion quiche, salmon rolls with cream cheese, mini Yorkshire puds, salmon mousse, tomato and mozarella salad, Waldorf salad, pesto pasta salad, Goose fat roasted potatoes. Roast ham, turkey crown and beef (home done) as well. Didier luxury individual desserts or Black Forest Trifle (that was home made). All washed down with champagne and wine. And not much left at the end. So nice to get away from the turkey dinner scenario. We all went to bed with full stomachs !
