Inspiration please - beach, tour , swimming, boats rides anything considered

We are spending 10 days on Disney, 1 night at HRH, but have 8 days when we want to some different things. My DS will be 11 and DD 14, they are both swim very well, animal mad and want to do something different.
I am looking for any ideas to make the holiday a little different, we are wanting a base maybe on the coast for a few days, so a nice beach for R&R would be welcome
Thanks in advance , love this planning part

There are some fantastic places on the gulf coast where you can take wildlife tours. We were down by Fort Myers this year and saw manatees cavorting, Dolphins, Sea Turtles, Osprey plus chicks, frigate birds and an amazing variety of other birds.

That was just during one 3 hour boat trip.

The coastal area around there is just beautiful.

We picked up a great little B&B but there are some lovely villas in Rotonda West if you want something bigger.

Rotonda West is between 2.5 to 3 hours from Orlando.

Try searching on the Dibb Guidebook. Here is a link for some info on Rotonda

http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/wiki...onda&submit=Go

You could also search for Gulf Coast info

There are 3 Dibb Villas on Rotonda West. Each one has info on the locality on their websites.

Rotonda is a fantastic place to finish off your Disney trip. You can relax after the hustle and bustle of Parkland!

Have a look at Florida Dolphin Tours. They do a 2 day trip down to the keys with an Everglades airboat trip and swimming with dolphins. We left it too late to book, so no availability 3 months out

No reason why we couldn't do it DIY as costs worked out similar, just not sure I fancied the drive there and back in 2 days, but if you extended over more than 1 night, it would make it easier.

It's only a little thing, but how about a drive in movie? Something different and truly American.
I think the one near Orlando is called Silver Moon In. Check them out.

we did a giraffe safari on our last trip in Dade city which was fab, also went out on a kayak from River Springs state park which was great fun. Loads of things to do and places to go you just have to have a little search online and on here soon you will have a list of things to do and places to go that will mean you end up going again and again and again...
