Keys and/or Gulf Coast Oct

Wondering what the weather is like on the Keys and Gulf Coast in October, will the storm season have passed by then and will the snow birds have arrived or do they come later?

Weather - obviously no guarantees, but we think the weather in October is great. Hot or very warm most of the time with warm evenings too. We've sometimes been there in October when its been stormy, but it's usually only for a couple of days. But, like I said, there are no guarantees!

October (late) is in my view the best weather in the year in Florida.
Yes you get the odd hurricane, but that wouldn't even enter my thinking.
Go for it.

Thanks, are these replies for both the Keys and Gulf Coast?

Yes from me. Keys a bit warmer than Gulf, but same general principle applies

Snowbirds begin to arrive in November and numbers increase thru December and January.

October is a lovely month to go to Florida.

I love the October weather on the Gulf Coast. The humidity is low and the nights are warm.

It's usually quite a quiet month as Hank says the snowbirds start to arrive in November.

The Americans really celebrate Halloween and for a couple of weeks before 31st you will see decorated houses & yards. Locally, on Dearborn St they do a Halloween walk. People dress up and stroll up & down the street. It's a great social event.

Around Haloween is nice on the Gulf, peak hurricane season, but we have always missed them. The Snowbirds start to arrive, but it isn't crazy busy like in January and February.

When does hurricane season start to drop off, we don't want to be stuck in the hotel room all the time as we are probably only going for 10 days?
