Will 2021 be mega busy?

We are planning three weeks in October 2021 ...do you think it will be significantly busier than usual due to the 50yr anniversary?
It'll prob be first three weeks in October and not the half term week!

Yes absolutely, especially with all the new rides due to open, all the vloggers wanting the first videos, people wanting to say they were there etc... It is going to be busy, but I'm not sure if it isn't ever busy anymore now though.

I'm not going to WDW in 2021. Instead I'm going to Disneyland in California for a few days then I'm going to Aulani in Hawaii for a week. Both are on my bucket list and I thought it'd be nice to tie them in together Then it'll be back to WDW in 2022. I am going to WDW this year though.

It's going to be busy sure, but it is busy every year.

Certain times are going to be rammed.

Avoid opening weeks of rides. Avoid Jan/April/June

We have not decided if we are going to go yet, but I'm sure it will have both advantages and disadvantages.

Take the Opening day of Star War's Galaxy's Edge in Orlando. It was packed to the brim, face to face. But the atmosphere was INCREDIBLE and I would not trade it for the world. It's a completely different experience and memory.

Sumit to keep in mind.

I don't mind the crowds. It means that I can spend more time with 2 x DS talking - something we don't get a chance to normally do!

is the whole year expected to be busy or just when the celebrations start? I was hoping early May might miss a lot of the crowds

I think you will find the entire year more busy than usual.

You're going to get a lot of people that are specifically going just to be there for the 50th. Some people can only go certain months, lots of americans will be travelling internally to visit, people have been skipping a year to line up with 2021. Not to mention all the new people from ads and social media etc..

It is going to be heaving.

On our keys to the Kingdom Tour in February the cast membe who did the tour put this in a diplomatic way.

It won't be an issue if you have been before and want to experience the anniversary, but if it's your "once in a lifetime" trip then 2021 won't be the best time to go.
