We had to put our 2018 points into RCI - they only accept in increments of 10 points. With an Aug UY we’ve (just) managed to bank the 2019 points and the 2020 UY points were unborrowed for our now defunct Easter trip.
Saratoska I’ve never tried to get into the RCI website directly, but if you click through from the DVC website you can search etc from there. It took a day or 2 for the 2018 points to how up on the RCI site though. Not ideal to have to put them into RCI but better than losing them.
For those beyond banking windows I really hope that DVC figure out a way to let these be banked late.

233 June points here, Disney are trying to decide what they can do. I'm really hoping that they do something. I've rebooked for November and just keeping my fingers crossed that they do come up with a plan.

I think the way DVC management is behaving is a disgrace and not what I would have expected of them. The very least they should be doing is refunding the management fees for points that they refuse to bank due to the use year falling awkwardly.

RCI may be an option for some but having looked I can't see me wanting to stay at any of those properties and I have no idea how easy it would be to try get a DVC property through RCI. From memory, I believe it can be tricky.

Friends of mine own a luxury timeshare at Gleneagles and had their trip cancelled (fixed week). They were offered their MFs back without even having to ask!
Now, that's the kind of customer service I would have expected of DVC and what they used to be renowned for.

So what do you want DVC to do that is fair to EVERY member apart from reduce dues?
The buildings still have to be maintained and they cannot suddenly increase the number of points available to be used next year or the year after legally and the amount of points needed for each room type will go up substantially and won't be fair to the vast majority of members.

DVC will be tied on what they can do with the points under Florida's timeshare laws.

Remember the biggest cost at a DVC resort is the CM's, they are currently still being paid, so at moment see no reason for dues to be reduced.

As I said, annual dues for unbankable points lost during shutdown ought to be refunded.
Overall that’s probably not a significant amount as most points will be retuned and bankable.

Part of our annual dues is allocated for insurance so hopefully something like this is included and if not the decent thing is to refund those affected.

Points needed for rooms can’t go up - that’s fixed over the year.

I’m not personally affected at the moment but should this carry on any/all of us might be. Will you be happy to lose your points if/when your reservation goes the same way?

If it lasts past 2021 then we have bigger fish to worry about than any points or holiday...

Easiest thing is to add on 1 year to everyone's contracts. That pushes any problems 20 years+ down the line to sort out.

Are they even allowed to add on a year? I think that may not be totally popular with some people anyway, especially those approaching retirement at contract end having to find another year dues.

Am not really sure what DVC can do, the banking restrictions are there to stop there being too many points compared to rooms etc, assume if they throw us a bone it will be something like reduced tickets or something, suppose it depends on attendance after they reopen
