I feel lucky at a time like this to have the home we live in. We moved 10 years ago when there were 5 of us living in a four bed house. It’s now usually just two of us but our youngest has moved back with us over summer! She is in 2nd year of university, I feel it might be a long “summer”. DH is working from home and has moved his work computer and monitors home into one of the bedrooms. We still have one spare bedroom, a large sitting room a large kitchen with seating area and a dining room to spread out into. We also have a double garage and a reasonable sized garden. The garage is full of my mums things that we rescued from her home when her “delightful” sister moved her into a nursing home but I suppose that will keep us occupied during lockdown.

3 bed 2 bath for 2 adults, a teen & a 9yr old. The rooms are very big, we love the garden & love the area. Very grateful at the moment to have so many enjoyable walking places nearby.

We have seriously considered moving multiple times & have got as far as having ours valued & viewing others but only so we can be closer to the kids school.

We would move if it wasn’t so expensive. We’re a family of 6 (2ad, 4 children 9, 11, 13, 17, so not little anymore) but we’ve only got 3 bedrooms. Our downstairs area is luckily very spacious and we have a conservatory. Front room/dining room is nearly 25ft long & 15ft wide. However upstairs it’s only 3 bedrooms (2 double & a box room) + bathroom & separate lavatory. My 3 girls share (eldest DD is desperate for her own room), DS has smallest bedroom & DH & I have the other double.
Our house was built circa 1930’s so has high ceilings which help make it feel more spacious.
Ideally i’d like a 5 bedroom house, but the jump in cost is just too great factoring in Stamp Duty, legal fees & moving costs. We’re in the east of England (detached house with a long drive, garage & 100ft garden). I reckon we’d get £270,000 but 5-beds round here are £400,000+.
So our plan (in a couple of years hopefully) is to extend into our loft with dorma windows & create 2 extra bedrooms & another bathroom.

Seriously need to move to a bigger house we have a small 3 bedroom semi house albeit the 3rd room is a box room just enough room for a bed and chest of drawers.
When everything is back to normal we are going to look for a 3 bed detached house so there is enough room for when the grandchildren come to stay

I'm a single person in a 3 bedroom house with a big garden. I was in the process of trying to sell it when all this began because I don't have the time to maintain the garden. Now of course I'm spending hours in there every day and it's looking better than it has for several years.
Oh well, at least it will look good when sales pick up again

I moved from a 3 bed mid terrace to a 3 bed semi in a rural area 3 years ago. I wanted a quiet place for the cats to explore but they seem to spend more time in the house!
It's a bigger 3 bed and has a huge lounge and 3 bathrooms so I'm forever cleaning (and losing) but I love the area
Thankfully I remortgaged a couple of months ago so am locked in for 5 years at a good rate
