Disney has just purchased more land near WDW
Just been reading about this.
Maybe a fifth park in the planning?! Exciting news in these dark days. ETA I hope it’s not an April fools joke that I’ve fell for!🙈 Edited at 07:32 PM. |

If it's not a joke I'm surprised they are wanting to spend anything at the minute. It could be wasteland for a looonnggggggg time unless they have a secret stash of cash. Presume whatever it was for will now be delayed ☹️

Tbh with the land they already have they could build a few parks very interesting if they are buying more land

Maybe they buy it to ensure no one else can?

They have lots of land already, enough for 2 or 3 parks

They have bought a total of 46 acres of which 19 is part of Reedy Lake and its next to the 235 acres they bought last year. It is between the 429 toll road and MK.

That is rapidly developing at the moment. There are hundreds of new homes. I expect Disney are buying what they can to keep anyone else from building so close. This is also just near their huge Flamingo Crossing development with a huge amount of housing for their college and international programs plus a big shopping center.

Maybe they are going to build another few huge solar panel parks.
Would make sense!

There may be a lot of vacant land but I thought part of the legislation was that they didn't develop on a percentage of it (what ever the number is)
Sounds like an april fool to me but I would like to be proved wrong

The land purchase is true. Disney does buy land every now and again as they can then use that land to offset using land previously marked down for conservation.
