Mobile Are there mosquitoes or biting midges in Orlando?

Just wondering if I need insect repellent? It’s always me that gets bitten if anyone does!

Eek! Ok. Glad I asked. I’ll stock up on repellent this weekend. Is it worth getting the plug ins for the hotel room too?

Hi make sure you get a spray with deet in it. When in Orlando go to some of the outdoor sports shops for good bug deterrent.

Ive never bothered with plug ins. I use repellent wipes but I still manage to get bitten at least once.
I now start taking anti allergy pills like clarityn a week before I go as I always get a really bad reaction to the bite.

Just make sure it’s the sweaty feet version, the smell really puts them- and everyone else, off.😂

There is no need for the plug ins. Because the rooms are air conditioned windows are kept shut and you only need to avoid them outside.

If you keep all out side doors shut non screened windows shut inside should not be an issue it's balconys that are not screened doors left open
Most but not all villas have screened pool enclosure those with out screened like the resort pools have very efficient bug control measures in place Reunion comes to mind
Follow all local advice at visit time as to what precautions you need to take but sun screen should be way top of everybody's list for protection 99%of the time
Me never been bitten use Avon skin so soft DH a bug magnet even with deet just luck of the draw butvwe do use a bug net / Sun hood on the stroller if the grand kids hop in for a nap ut don't leave the bug
Net on the strolle they walk in MK believe me
