Valley floor is on open type bus/ trailer.what is it you want to see in Monterey, we feel it's a great place,are you going whale watching ! Fantastic.

Ah cool will definitely look into the tour, we're planning to do the aquarium the afternoon we arrive then an 8am whale watching tour the next day with sanctuary, before heading south late morning

I recommend Nepenthe for lunch. You won’t have time for stopping much if you’re pushing on to Santa Barbara but the scenery is still spectacular.

Hi again after the evening at the aquarium or after whale watching please drive south via 17 mile dr and Carmel , simply stunning. ? Possibly have lunch at pebble beach. On the way make sure to stop to see the elephant seals at San Simeon it was like watching a wild life programme up close.
PS make sure you take binoculars for you trip, if you don't have a pair it's a must buy before you go.
