DH and DS went to Manchester on Saturday, he loved it although it was his first open day so i have told him to keep his options open, we are off to Loughborough on Saturday then Durham on Monday.

York for us this weekend. We have made a long weekend of it and are having a lovely time reminiscing about my time at Uni here. Open Day is tomorrow. |

Well dh took eldest son to Nottingham on Friday, I took him to Loughborough today and I'm taking him to York tomorrow! He is also going on a 6 hour hour train journey on Monday to reach his Y12 work experience so we'll all be looking forward to a break next weekend.

We did our first Uni visit yesterday to Bangor, my daughter is looking at Marine Vertebrate Zoology and this is the only Uni that offers the course so that narrows our options somewhat!

Dd went to UCL Friday and loved it. Dh said it had a campus feel despite being in London. She learnt a lot about the expense of choosing London! That’s it until September now.

Did anyone go to York? What did you think of the accommodation?

We are driving back now and I’m Dibbing to stay awake! We went to Vanburgh, Alcuin, Langwith, Constantine and Goodricke accommodation. The standard shared bathroom at Vanbrugh was exactly the same rooms as when I was there 30 years ago. Minging. All the others we looked at were okay. DD likes the Premium rooms best. No surprise there 🙄 I preferred the Premium Rooms with shared bathrooms as the rooms were a bit bigger. We didn’t look at any economy rooms as she wouldn’t want to stay in them and I couldn’t bear the moaning.

The accommodation at York was the worst we'd seen in the 3 days. James College was the worst - I would have been embarrassed to show it as the kitchen was dire
It's close to us (we are in Leeds) so I don't want to put him off but York needs some updating. |
