Would you class Kennedy as a rest day or can it still be a busy tiring day please?

It depends... We spend a whole day there - and there is a fair bit of walking - but there are also bits on a coach and the sit down IMAX shows, so although people think we have fitted in a lot and we have - we have seen all the exhibits indoors and out and touched the moon etc we spread it out over the whole day from park open to close, so that is not too tiring.
What we do find tiring is the fact that you then have to drive back on busy roads, find something to eat etc... |

I counted it as a rest day. We went at the end of August and went expecting it to be really busy and king queues, but the reality was it was very quiet. I guess it might depend on when you go. We didn’t have to wait for anything, but if we had needed to it would have lengthened the amount of time we spent on our feet (standing in queues etc)

We hadn't planned for it to be a rest day but it actually turned out to be quite a relaxing day. We went last august and was our third trip. It was really quiet this time for some reason and the park felt very calm and we had minimal waits for everything , no wait on some things.

Not strictly on the way back, but only 20 minutes South from the Space Center, this place is fantastic...
grillsseafood/port-canaveral/ The food is excellent and they have live music on the outdoor deck. |

We did a full day there and were almost kicked out at closing! But I wouldn't say it was strenuous and then on the way back we explored some of the coast and did a walk on a deserted beach at sunset watching the pelicans flying back in. That was totally relaxing.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what are thoughts on driving versus getting a coach to Kennedy?
Do you get any longer there by driving? Do you need that extra time? Is it less stressful just getting on the bus? 2 adults and 2 kids? Let them do the hard work? Ideally treat this as a non-park / less stressful day?
We will have a hire car, but not sure wanna be stuck on the freeway there and back if its busy. We were thinking of going on a Sunday. Are weekends busier? Any help for a first time visitor would be appreciated. Thank you. |
