We were there last night and i thought it was extremely busy. The shows were good but felt that you had to secure a good spot early, especially for the parades.
The popular rides had about a half an hour wait but as there were no fast passes then the queues moved so it didn’t feel like it and you got to see the theming of the queues which was good. The wife and kids really enjoyed it so I can’t say it wasn’t worth it but for a ticketed event I didn’t think it would be anywhere near as busy as that. |

We visited last night (2 adults and 12yr old) and thought it was great. We arrived around 5:15 and were able to do a couple of rides booked with FP+ before they stopped at 6pm.
Overall we found the queue times lower than posted, our last ride on Space Mountain had a posted time of 40 minutes but we were off the ride and out of the building in under 30 which was great. We went to the first night last year also and felt that was busier than last night but that was a sell out and I didn’t see any signs up last night to say the same. Tip we learned from last year, candy queues can be quite long and slow early on, if you can, wait until later as they only take a minute or so and after 11pm they give you LOADS of candy at each stop. We only did rides and candy stops, no character meets or photo opportunities, but some of the queues for these did look long. One thing that nearly caught us out was the projection and firework show was on at 10:15 not at the end of the night so we nearly missed that, luckily we realised whilst over by Buzz Lightyear so stood on the bridge and watched from a side view which was still very good. We left around 5 mins before midnight and it took about 45 mins to get back to the car which again we didn’t feel was that bad - luckily the weather was kind, much better than it had been on previous evenings. Its an expensive night, but, we did nearly 7 hours of riding our favourite rides multiple times and went home with many kg of candy each! |

V busy til 10.30 (after fireworks). Overall enjoyable but first part with so many people and long lines was not so nice.
Pros: 1. Kids like the free candy 2. Awesome parades 3. New fireworks show is great 4. Low wait time for rides (but have to wait til towards end of the night for the pools ones) Cons: 1. Park was extremely crowded til 10.30 but note this was the first parade 2. Long wait for characters until 10.30 3. Kids get restless for waits between hocus pocus, parade and fireworks as it was late |

Excited about Disney

Last night won’t be a great barometer anyway for general MNSSHP crowds. On the first night they do the media events where social media ‘influencers’ and press get given free tickets so that bumps the crowds up. First night of an event is always heaving anyway.
I’m thinking that by a mid week day mid September the crowds will have died off a little.

I’d be interested in the answer to this as we are doing the same but for MVMCP
