I was gonna do the whole 'wait till the last minute to book your flight' thing. I'm a solo traveler meeting people when I'm over there.

Kept checking the prices & a few weeks ago I saw Norwegian Airlines price had gone as low as £560 for a return. So bit the bullet. Made the right decision so far because their prices have gone up & there was never a chance in gods earth that I could afford Virgin or BA.

I think you should just book. That's a good price you're getting. And when I think about it I dunno what I'd have done had I waited...and waited...and then not been able to afford it cos prices just kept rising or not moving.

Our BA flights worked out at about £385, so to us Norwegian at £560 is too expensive...

Thanks for all replies guys.

I'm now factoring in all the other costs for us to see if it is in fact do-able financially.

We done Disney in Easter so would be looking for a flex ticket: quick search and that will be £1513 for 5 of us.

Too late for a decent bargain villa so for the first time in years it would be a hotel. These seem quite pricey too so as suggested I looked at package options.

With the flights I was looking at, Thomson have a package staying at Extended Stay on universal blvd in a suite with continental breakfast for £421.30pp so £2106.50 Total for the 5 of us. Not too bad at all!

Car hire is 'included' in the package but I don't know how much they charge for insurance in comparison to booking our usual independently with Dollar via usrentacar.

This all gives me quite a bit to discuss with DH and the kids!

Wow, that's amazing. We had a look at Virgin prices last night (we've already booked BA for August) due to the BA strike... When we booked earlier in the year Virgin were £2k ish more expensive. Yesterday they were £1000 cheaper than BA... Gutted. However we are flying to Tampa and Virgin only go to Orlando... but we would have booked Virgin for their current price... It does mean holding your nerve!
