Hi all, we're here now so thought I'd pop on with an update..thank you all so much, your tips worked and I flew pain free! We flew Heathrow to Miami then Miami to MCO yesterday. I took the red box sudafed one hour before take off, and otrivine, and chewed airwaves on take off. Sudafed is a 4 hourly medication so I took a dose mid flight then an hour before landing, with otrivine each time, and also sniffed olbas oil at any time I felt any congestion. I had ear planes but didn't use them as realised I wouldn't be able to hear DD talking to me during landing when she gets very nervous. During descent I chewed airwaves, cleared my ears often and wiggled my jaw. I had absolutely no pain anywhere - amazing! On the 2nd short flight I didn't do any of it, as we didn't climb so I assumed there'd be no problem anyway. Thanks again everybody who shared their tips.
