Urgent help
We fly tomorrow.
We are trying to check in. On my booking (with TC), I can't check in although husband and children can. TC say just checkin at airport. On parents booking dad can't check in like me, mum's is saying she doesn't have authorisation to travel. All of us have in date ESTAs. TC say it's not them. Can't work out who we can speak to confirm ESTA not a problem. Has anyone dealt with this before? Mum understandably panicking. |

Sorry can't help much but have you tried to log back in to the esta site to see what that says now? If not I'd start by doing that. Hope it all gets sorted.

I would hope it is just a glitch with their system. If you have checked the esta's and they are all valid then it must be their system.

I would go back on esta website, pop in references and double check your authorisation to travel. If all is fine on that system, then that is all that matters. If possible, I would print the Estas to have at airport just in case, or at least a screen shot of screen on phone. Esta aside, Lots of people can't check in online, it's just means that they have been selected at random to check in at airport as extra security measure. I'm sure all will be fine.

Common reasons for not being able to check in are that you have been selected for additional screening. This is nothing to worry about.
On the authorisation to travel. I would check the Esta still showing approved (which I think you have done). I would also check that the passport number and name on the Esta are correct (easy to reverse 2 numbers or 2 letters). If all of that is fine it is most likely a computer glitch. I would however take a print out of the Esta with you to check in to pre-empt any questions. Have a great trip. |

Have you renewed your passport by any chance? We have found that anytime one of us has renewed a passport that person cannot check in online and has to do so at the airport.

If you have a new passport, then you will need a new esta. They are linked in that way.

Yes. All on the same passport. Used the esta before too. So no idea why.
Less worried about me and my dad as they've said we can check in at the airport. Obviously panicking about mum. |

We went with virgin on Wednesday.
My husband and son checked in fine online the day before, me and my daughter couldn't check in. I panicked at first but then I thought I have everything to say I have estas, our seats and our payment info. We just turned up and yes the check in sorted everything! |
