As a previous poster has said many economy seats on the flight are now booked, it seems unfair that Virgin are not letting us book our seats when they have had our deposit since April.
Not quite what I said unless you specifically want upstairs.

When I posted today for economy the seat maps were showing from expertflyer which takes feeds from the airline
Economy downstairs : 21 seats booked 66 blocked but not allocated to anyone so out of 343 seats downstairs it leaves a couple of hundred seats available on top of the 66 blocked.

Upstairs: 21 seats booked 6 blocked but not allocated to anyone with 6 seats available (6 blocked seats are front row of economy by exit so I assumed can only be booked by calling due to restrictions on who can sit there)Available ones are: 1 by window in row 76 (76K) 2 by window in row 77 (77J and K) and row 80 (80 H J K - Dibbers row).

In all honesty now, as long as Virgin actually let me know what flight I am on, I have no preference for seats. I would just like to know which flight I am on to be sure of travelling the day before my daughter's birthday.

I didn't think Virgin did 2 flights a day except during the summer holidays. We're flying on 16/9/18 and were only given option of one flight, at 13:05, I think.

They had the two flights offered on the fly/drive option when we booked. Our invoice has us booked on the 11.25 outbound and 18.25 inbound. However, Virgin Atlantic are saying these are cancelled but Virgin Holidays will not confirm this or send us new invoices to confirm it. Therefore we cannot book seats or be entirely sure of what flights we are on.

I am going end of Jan and when I booked I had the choice of 2 flights, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Within about 2 days I was bumped to the later flight. Virgin just said the earlier was cancelled. So they definitely were offering 2 flights a day in winter.

I am a bit naffed off as now won't really have time to do anything on arrival day but it is only a couple of hours.

Do you not have your flight locator code? When we gave this to VA they were able to see our flight booking and which flight we were on and book our seats.

Just our original booking reference. VA have said we are on later flight and early flight is cancelled but VH still say it isn't definite yet. This is what is frustrating. If they said later flight then ok, bit later getting there but not a problem but I am annoyed that they won't actually tell us anything.

Maybe VH have not had the official email yet and therefore cannot confirm to you or any customers. Whilst something's are instant others are not

Yes I understand that and I agree that there is still ages to go until we fly. But VA said this around 25 November which is around 2 weeks ago and VH are still saying they are unsure so we can't book seats or get confirmation of which flight. I think it should have been passed onto VH within 2 weeks.

I'm sorry for the hassle you're having with Virgin. It seems very strange that they are consolidating flights on a weekend flight just before October half term We have also booked a fly drive with Virgin Holidays. We booked the 11am Manchester to Orlando Virgin flight on 24 October. When the seats were released, our flight time moved to 10.30am but we've been able to book seats. I hope you get it sorted soon.
