Golden Corral virgin
Ok. This summer when we go to Orlando I am very tempted to try GC having ALWAYS avoided it.
You Dibbers seem to love the place! Tell me the pros and cons, baring in mind I like signature dining We will be 4 adults and 2 kids, one of whom is 5 and a bit tricky as we never know what is on her "OK to eat today" list...

Pros - vast amount of choice and cheap and my kids love it.
Cons - plastic plates - school canteen feel - busy |

Biggest Pro - if you don't like something, you go and chose something else.
There is a vast selection of food to chose from, the steaks are actually very good. Even the fussiest eater will find something to eat. Cons - it can be crowded and noisy, feels a bit like a high school canteen. On their website there is a menu showing all the nutritional and allergy information for every item on the buffet. But I worry that food can get cross contaminated. Give it a try, you won't know until you try it.

Lots of people on here love it.
I hated hated hated it ! Completely spoiled our last morning in Orlando. We thought the breakfast and everything about the place was revolting. I think the one near Pointe Orlando is a particularly bad one though. We hardly ate anything and the place was filthy. Funnily though husband, son and I will eat anything and we hated it. Daughter is extremely fussy and she didn’t mind the place ! I know it is one of those places some dibbers don’t like anyone criticising but I have to be honest ! |

Getting Excited

We tried GC on our last visit and it was very average. We prefer Ponderosa more and that's a must for us but it too divides opinion. Like others have said, there’s plenty of choice!

We love Golden Corral for breakfast! We usually go on our way to universal. Dh once ate 16 sausages! I usually manage 2 good size platefuls of breakfast followed by a plate of desserts. The boys generally eat pancakes and muffins and stuff from the chocolate fountain.
There is so much on offer so I certainly wouldn’t worry about a fussy eater.

We went for dinner on a Saturday as they had extra options (steak and king prawns, I think). DD (aged 5) liked being able to help herself and went to the steak section about 3 times to get more.
I imagine the level of busyness depends on what time you go, we ate at about 5/6pm and it didn't feel overly busy. We had a coupon too so got it really cheap (£27 for 2 adults and 1 child!). |

It's fine if you don't mind eating pig swill quality food.

We quite like breakfast but are not so keen on dinner. It’s cheap and cheerful with lots of choice. I never understand the complaints about the plastic tableware, when in Disney QS it’s all on paper plates?
