Havent heard this on the news, but reading it on here im am shocked at the fact that you wouldnt expect this to happen at disney. It was a tragic loss to his friends/family and his co-workers. Thank the lord it was at the time of day were there arent many people on and it were at about 10am or about 6pm when the monorails will be most busy.
Goodbye to the driver of Monorail Purple. Your in a Better place now. x

I won't post the link to it as I don't think it's appropriate but I've just seen a video on You Tube, taken inside the station almost immediately after the crash. Very surreal, no apparent urgency to get to the driver and no real sense of shock by anyone. In fact, it appears people are still trying to board the carriage immediately behind the drivers cab.
RIP young man. A very sad day for his family and for Disney. |

Im saddened and shocked by this tragic accident. Thoughts go out to his family and co-workers, it would have been a very sombre day for all working in the disney parks today. May he rest in peace x |

I am so shocked by this sad news.
I would not expect this kind of accident to happen at WDW. It seems so safe & well maintained... and well, out of a storybook. PP are right, thank God it was so late... can you imagine if it had been full?! RIP Austin Wuennenberg x |
