There is an option to download areas of maps for offline viewing but im not sure if u can use it as sat nav like this

I didn't think you could but I just googled offline maps and it came up with how to use google maps off line!

We don't normally use any satnav over there but a couple of years ago we fancied a trip to the coast and instead of just hitting I-4 and I-75 we wanted to try a few cross country routes through towns such as Frostproof. Joan downloaded Here to her mobile.

She downloaded the Florida map before we left home and it works off-line over there perfectly well.

It does talk to you and it has a useful (so Joan says ) feature of giving an audible alarm if you exceed the speed limit
