Why can't people keep their word!

Rant really! Applied for a job back in January for a clubhouse manager for local footie club, they had ummed and ahhed for months about what they were going to do and when they wanted someone to start! Roll on to end Aug I get a call saying they wanted me to go for interview, which I finally had last night, against 2 other people, told would definitely know either way today, and still waiting for a call, it's really annoying and frustrating not knowing, and I wish people would keep to what they say, even if it's a no thank you! 😠

In all my years of working the best quote I heard at a meeting is ''why don't we under promise and over deliver''

That stuck with me for the rest of my career. Say what your timescales are, be honest and never lie.

Sadly these are traits that seem to have gone

Its awful isn't it. I went for a job interview recently and was told I would hear by the end of the week. Didn't hear back, so called on the Monday only to find out that the woman was then on holiday for a week. Spoke to her the following week and was then told there was a delay and I would hear by the end of the next week, and again didn't hear. When I did get an answer I was told I hadn't got the job which I was very disappointed by, so asked for some feedback. They made three different appointments with me, and the HR lady missed all of them- I just gave up in the end. Very disappointing from a large company.

Probably a blessing you didn't get it by the sound of things! Its so unprofessional and down right rude. I hope you've found a job your happy with in a company which looks after you x

Ok well better late than never, I didn't get the job, it's only taken them the beat part of 9months to actually sort it out! Prob best maybe!

It certainly seems like it Tom, massive pet hate is people not turning up or calling when they said they will, and the worst thing is on fb messanger when you know they have seen and read message but still don't reply, it's infuriating!

Probably a lucky escape, but it doesn't feel like it at the time it's just common courtesy to let people know!

Given how they have treated you already - consider it a close escape!
I would dread to think how the job would move forward if it took them this length of time
