Ideas for a 13 year old boy xmas present

Hi,
I am looking for inspiration for a present for my nephew.

He is nearly 13 and is very intelligent/ inquisitive for his age. I have bought him a book of weird/funny facts but want to spend another £20-30 but am completely stuck for ideas. I don't want to give him a voucher or money.

As a guide he loved the NASA Space gifts I brought back from holiday last year, which included a facts book and a 3d model, so I am thinking along these lines but really don't know what exactly. I am a bit out of touch with teenagers these days.

Can anyone help?

My 13 year old loves video games, video games and more video games lol
He also loves lego and will happily sit for hours building. We bought our DS a fancy spinning world globe last year that he was made up with (not a kids one, very nice it is and paid about £25).

I have 2 boys of a similar age - ds1 is 13 (will be 14 in march) and ds2 is 12 (will be 13 in march)

Computer games are definitely a big thing with both of them. As is phone/tablet related things - think specific cases, lazy arm, docking station/wireless charging pad that kind of thing. They like gadgets and tech things, for xmas both of them (And their sister) are getting an echo dot for their rooms with a smart plug - the echo dots 3rd gen were reduced to £25 (£20 for the 2nd gen) on the likes of amazon and argos if that kind of thing might be an option? I'm possibly looking at a smart bulb each to go with the dots too, just for the novelty factor

TK Maxx seemed to have quite a selection of xmas bits in. We managed to pick up quite a few things in there like an ice hockey game, similar idea to air hockey but you actually freeze it so its ice - DS2 will love this! They had constellation finding binoculars where your smartphone clips in the top and using the downloaded app you can find the different constellations - they were £19.99. Retro gaming bits, things like a magnetic sand timer (we picked one of these up for DS1 as he was fascinated watching it and was only £4.99) things that seem to be on trend like the light boxes with messages, an infinity cube that lights up and is like a galaxy, has different modes so can react to music etc they were only £9.99

Lego is great if you know he's into it - DS2 used to like lego but hasn't touched it for a few years now - DS1 loved his lego but only interested in the architecture sets now, the rest would be a waste of money to be honest.

Other than that, my two are getting some things specific to interests - DS1 likes Game of Thrones so he's getting a pop up guide to westeros that all opens out into a 3d version of the map - DS2 has a similar one but a pop up guide to Hogwarts as he likes Harry Potter - they both like Pop vinyls so ones like Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, Fantastic Beasts, Marvel etc.

what about an electronic project kit (used to get these in maplins etc) to make for example a solar powered buggy kit, you build it up learning about the components etc as you go. was also a basic computer to build as another exmaple

not a dig but surprised to hear 13 year old lads still building lego?

How about the taskmaster book. Then he can run his own at home events for family and friends. My 13 year olds thinks its very funny. and also gives a different way to get to know each other more.

My son is also getting an inflatable chair which is in the shape of an x box controller.

He did suggest a 18 dvd….with some 'content', I said he needs to wait!

All of a sudden xbox time seems easier!
