coffee POD machine

DH has had a Tassimo machine for years and think it's on it's way out so looking to get a replacement but not sure whether to go for another Tassimo or to try Nespresso this time and wondered if anyone has any thoughts on them?

Would prefer it to have a large water container with water filter as we have very hard water.

It would really only be for coffee (not bothered about tea or hot choc).

Large variety of coffee available - like large cup, very strong, latte's etc.

thanks in advance!

Have a Tassimo in work and a Nespresso at home, prefer the Nespresso as I can get stronger coffee for it

You can also get Nespresso refillable pods,(amazon) to reduce per cup cost or to use your favourite blend

We picked up a second Tassimo for £35 over xmas - old one still going strong - I think for the build quality and lifespan, I would stick with these...it seems very subjective which is better, and if you like Tassimo coffee risky to switch.

any particular reason?

He likes coffee in general, no specific brand (likes to try different ones) so has one better variety than the other or cheaper / better offers?

thanks for the responses so far.

the reason for me is I have tried countless nespresso pods and not found one I am really happy with, I like the costa Americano ones from tassimo, also I have had my machine now for about 5 years and apart from descaling when it complains it is still going strong. I get the pods at Costco so decent price compared to some, I know the nespresso pods are available in many forms including generic supermarket ones so if it is down to fueling cost the nespresso probably wins there.

I’ve had a dolce gusto, a tassimo and a nespresso and hands down the nespresso delivers much nicer ,better quality coffee . Although it’s not the best if you just like normal coffee as it’s not easy to get a large cup out of it if you prefer just black coffee or coffee with a little milk like an Americano.
So many different coffees to choose from though and the limited edition ones are always good to try

We had a tassimo and replaced it with a nespresso when it broke. We think the coffee tastes better and is hotter. Pods compatible with nespresso are widely available, but I do like a trip to the nespresso shop to have a taste of any of the limited editions or specials! I bought a lavazza machine for my parents and that also makes good coffee.
