How does child swap work?
Hi dh and I have been going to wdw for a long time but this year is the first time we've needed to do the child swap thingy.
We have no idea how it is supposed to work. Do we all join the queue together then one waits whilst the other rides? In which case how does the rider get back to the waiter? Or does it work in a different way? Any info greatly appreciated |

Have a listen to the Dibbcast on 1st September. Sue actually covers this issue in her "Disney with kids" item.

Any time we have used it we have told the cast member at the entrance to the ride that we want to do child swap. They have then given us fast passes to use when the 1st riders have riden. We are a party of 4 so 2 go on and 1 stays off with ds. They gave us 2 fast passes so the 2nd rider didn't have to ride alone. This also meant that we didn't have to stand and wait with ds but could take him for a wander while the others were on the ride and then meet up with the rest of the party when they are finished. The 2nd lot can then join the fastpass queue and use the fastpasses. We thought it was a great system.

When we did child swap we all joined the normal queue. And when we got to the ride one of us went into the child swap room which is right by the exit of the ride. When we swapped we had to go up to a cast member and they put you on the next ride. Other rides use the fast pass line for child swap.

We found this worked really well for us last year, we took our little terror along and swapped him for a sweet little girl and never looked back since

This is really helpful when you have small children that cant go on the rides..last year my hubby would go on with the two boys while I sat with our baby, then when he came off he would sit with the bay and we would go on again..so the boys got to ride twice in one go ...well all except once when we did the spiderman ride in universal they hated it so when it was my turn I had to go on on my own !
