Do the WDW Halloween decorations really go up in August?

Just seen that the MNSSHP starts on 16th August this year so I'm assuming that the Halloween decorations will be up before then. When do they put them up? Will they be in all parks or just MK?

Also, I'm sure I read that MK is generally quieter during the day if there is a MNSSHP scheduled for that evening? Does this actually seem to be the case?

We're hoping fly out around 11th / 12th August 2020, we won't be doing the Halloween party but we'd like to see the parks before the decorations go up if possible.

They were up in August last year. We did MNSSHP on 25th August - well worth the additional money

Yes, they go up in August. We did the 2nd night last year. Historically it�s supposed to be the quietest night but I thought it was totally rammed! First time so maybe I wasn�t sure what to expect, but personally I wouldn�t do it again.

We did MK last year on a party day and the park was empty until about 4pm
