jam tarts
hi i need to make some jam tarts for an alice in wonderland themed party, any ideas/good pastry recipies? what jam to use etc- any ideas gratefully received!

My mum used to make her pastry half butter half lard and they tasted amazing, don't know if you can still but lard these days, Im not a Baker so buy a shortcrust pastry mix you just add water too but I buy a nice jam and always put a splash of water in with each tart to stop the jam burning... Another thing my mum used to do

Thanks, didnt know how to stop jam turning rock hard in oven!, i will definetly try a butter rich pastry!
