I often wonder this when I see them flying, as I think about how if they’re moving for the winter how I don’t see them coming back, or why they don’t just stay there?

We get lots of them as they winter along the Solway coast.
It was featured on Autumn (or possibly Winter)Watch on BBC a couple of years ago.
I love hearing them fly over.

We live in Aberdeenshire and have seen several flights of geese already.

Seem to go in all sorts of different directions !

Here in Fife we see them from around the end of August. They are heading up to Loch Leven near Kinross.

There is a a statue (if you can call it that) on the roundabout into Kinross when you exit the motorway.

Fabulous sight.

We get loads in the winter, West Lothian/Falkirk farm. Funny though - haven't noticed them yet. I love seeing them but they are a menace as they graze all the fields.
