Uni kids starting how are they getting on?
My dd has gone from hating it yesterday morning to meeting all her course students last night, meeting new flat mates today. Meeting up with school friends and going to the supermarket.
 Her shower floods the bathroom and she’s not eating properly yet But has gone to get in some shopping, we offered but she only bought snacks and a spaghetti Bol! We have given her £50 for her first food shop, she’s much happier and I think she will love it! ☺️First time in 6 months it’s just me and the dog!

My son is part catered (breakfast and evening meal Mon-Fri) so hopefully he'll eat ok.
He is really shy but went in his shared kitchen to meet all his housemates when we dropped him off yesterday while I made his bed and hung his clothes. He seemed quite settled. Not heard from him yet ... |

Dd had her year out with her partner and they have rented a lovely flat together in Swansea. Feel a lot happier knowing they are together and not stuck in halls, even though Swansea itself is in lockdown. She is starting as a fresher this week.

Actually, we are finding we are having more 'time' with our son since he went away as we have an agreement to talk at least every 2 or 3 days in these early weeks, and we chat for aaages - whereas when he was at home he lived in his room or was out and about with his girlfriend or pals. - So it's a win-win for us!  Also, on the subject of catered accom - our son is catered (Breakfast lunch dinner) We originally applied for self catered but he actually got offered catered and as it has worked out I find we are much happier with this arrangement!  Works out a bit cheaper for us on balance, and he has the food on tap/ Plenty of time to use those self catering skills next year!
