After GCSE trip to DLP

Daughter has asked if she and her friend can go to DLP after their exams are over next year. Both will be 16. I think a few days in DLP is preferable to them wanting to go to Magaluf or the like !

Does anyone know if two 16 year olds can actually check in to a DLP hotel ? Have any of you any experience of allowing teens to go without an “adult”

Thanks all.

I think you still need someone over the age of 18 to check in but i may be wrong. Say yes and go with her but let them go off by themsleves. I would haha

Here is the section regarding age from the Disney Hotels policy:

1.4. Minors: minors aged under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. In the absence of a parent or responsible adult, children aged 15 and over may stay in the hotel, subject to providing written authorisation signed by their legal guardian.

Children aged under 12 must be supervised at all times. Whatever their age, minors remain under the responsibility of their parents or legal guardians, who are subsequently responsible for any damage they may cause.

I suspect it will be ok but you will have to give written permission to the hotel with your details on it stating you do not hold the Hotel responsible if anything were to happen. I had to do this last summer when my son went to Magalluf and he was under 18.

It won’t let me do a booking for them online. It seems that they can book with written adult consent but if it goes ahead they will need to book over the phone.

Thank you. Out of interest how did Magaluf go ? I did reason that DLP was a relatively safe first holiday for two 16 year olds. Stay on site, magic express, but I do need to let go a bit first.

I think it’s a great idea after exams. Days 1-4, they were up normal times, utilising the all inclusive for food and drink and enjoying water parks etc, days 5-9, drinking and sleeping with not much else. They had a great time and will be going again as soon as they can. I think my daughter who is doing Nat 5s next May would much prefer DLP to Maga!

That’s good the holiday went so well. It’s hard learning to let go when they grow up but I will have to learn !
