Grand Cayman - November 2012, Day 7
Day 7 30th November 2012
Today was our last day. We woke up at 8.30am and once again had crescent rolls for breakfast. Mmm. We packed the majority of our stuff before heading out onto the beach so I could have a last go at snorkeling! Its my new favourite activity! After a while we came in, showered and dressed and headed into Georgetown for lunch at Margaritaville. I had a BBQ Jerk Burger & Aaron had the Fish & Chips. Both meals were really good but Aaron especially loved his fish. He enquired as to what it was and we were told it was Swai! One we have never heard of before but it was seriously yummy! The bill along with a beer & two diet cokes came to $41 US dollars. After a final look around the shops, I had the obligatory milkshake while Aaron had a single scoop of ice cream before we headed back to the condo. We finished packing and spend our last few minutes Facetiming my parents and dog We had a last walk on the beach and then packed our suitcases into the car and headed for the airport. Check in was fine, the airport is so tiny and once through security there is just one large room with a few shops scattered around. We bought some Vodka to bring home and I spent the last few Cayman dollars I had on a cinnamon bun and a diet coke. These two cost $11 US Dollars but the cake was very nice! The airport had free wifi so the wait time for the plane flew by. We boarded on time and had another uneventful and smooth flight. After we had taken off form Nassau we were served dinner, me and Aaron then watched Lawless which is a fabulous film before having a good 4 hour sleep each! By the time we woke up we were only an hour away from landing. I watched an episode of Suburgatory & new Girl while we landed as the crew had made an announcement saying that BA were trying a new scheme where they leave the IFE running until the plane stops! It was fab and I hope they keep it up. Once we were off the plane we were though immigration in no time, had our luggage and after stopping at Krispy Kreme on the way past for a donut, we went to wait for our Purple Parking bus. In no time we were on our way home and a couple of hours later we had arrived! Edited at 10:11 AM. |

I've really enjoyed your trip report. As is said before, my neice and her hubby live in Georgetown and my mum and suster visiter for a month in feb last year so its nice to see it from a proper tourist point if view. Looks like you and Aaron had a fab time, I'm undecided if its a holiday we as a family would enjoy!

We had an amazing time! Im not sure what I would do there for a month other than go bankrupt Must be a completely different holiday if you have family over there though. Its a beautiful place to visit and would be ideal to add a 4/5 night stay onto the end of a Florida trip! I think the flight time from Miami is only about an hour.
Yes, as i have said above a short trip tacked on the end of a nice Florida holiday would be ideal! Here's dreaming! |
