I think it's because it's a cart. All the carts are tax included IIRC, presumably it's easier for the CMs as they don't have the full facilities of other food locations.

Exactly that - carts have always shown a price inclusive of tax.

(When I say "always", I mean as long as I can remember anyway)

They've also been increasing the price of Merch for ages now. I seem to remember a pink spirit jersey released at WDW just before Christmas that was priced at $180! I couldn't believe my eyes.

Personally, I doubt we’ll ever step foot in the land of mouse ever again unless for a single day.
I love Disney, as we all do. But we literally have a 3 day ticket for this year, I did have 5 nights on-site with the dining credit & 14 day ticket but decided to drop it and add a day ticket to the 2 day ticket I already had. I just can’t justify it anymore especially when it’s really more me who wants to do Disney rather than hubby or the kids! They just go along with it for my sake lol

The sequin one? I think they've found the price people won't pay, first time a pink spirit jersey didn't immediately sell out on Shop Disney.

Merch pricing was so random last trip. You'd pick up a t-shirt and it would be the usual $24.99. But the one next to it would be $36.99 for a very similar design. I ended up playing guess the price for fun.

I'm not sure why Disney is "losing the plot" by putting up prices - whether because they are passing on increasing supply/labour costs or to make more profit (or a bit of both). Especially if people are continuining to pay it. Surely that's just normal business practice?

I mean, sure, I can totally understand why guests would dislike this - although, I suspect, not enough for many of them to actually stop buying these things. But it's not a sign of Disney losing the plot.

So about $7 for a choc ice- wow.

I remember on our last trip picking up a powderade at a cart outside Universal and nearly choking on it when it was $5 for one bottle. Just reinforces my plan to stay offsite next time and eat offsite!

Yep, that's certainly something you can do.

I haven't worked out the overall percentage increase of these prices, but some of the items have increased by 12%. So when the bill comes up and the total price is more but you leave a tip that is a smaller percentage than previously then there's a good chance the server (not Disney) will still be getting as much of a tip as before. And, of course, Disney will still be getting more of your money whether you reduce your tip or not.
