There are no right or wrong answers here, you give what you can afford and feel comfortable with.

Same as others have said ... there is no correct answer to this.

Putting 18 x £1 coins in a card, or £2 coins or £5 or £10 would make it more 'fun' though.

I'd look on Etsy at different ways to display money like that, plenty of nice ideas instead of just giving some cash in an envelope.

You could give 18 lottery tickets or scratch cards too?

It comes down to what you can afford and what you then feel is appropriate.
Maybe speak to her parents for advice?

Exactly this
It all depends on what you usually give for a normal birthday too
So if you give £50 normally, then I’d try & double it at least
All depends on circumstances though & also if you’ve got maybe 10 grandchildren or 1 😳💰💰

My OHs mum and dad have 6 grandchildren from them being born she had a piggy bank for each one and out a pound coin in them , when full they were put on a post office account and they got the book on their 18th birthday, I met my partner when my daughter was 7 and she did the same for her , they are all over 18 now apart from my youngest who is 13 , she doesn't know they all got this as she was so young when they all turned 18 so in a few years hopefully a lovely surprise. My mum gave my eldest £100 I think for her 18th and was so grateful , do what you can afford to comfortably do , I'm sure it will be appreciated on their special birthday x

My Grannie and Granda gave me 2 x £21 (for my 21st) in premium bonds (many many many moons ago) and as such I still have them and a reminder of them who sadly passed over 30 years ago. I don't remember many other 21 Birthday gifts but I do remember those

My Mum gave my eldest son and her other grandchildren £100, on normal birthdays they got £50. My youngest ds is 13 years younger than his brother and all his cousins. When she passed away, we found a tin with my youngest name on it and inside she’d put the £100 for his 18th. He’s 14 this coming Friday and I’m crying typing this and thinking that she didn’t want to leave him out. It’s not the amount that matters, it’s who it’s from and what it means x

How much can you reasonably afford? If you're broke then £25 would be appreciated. If you're raking it in from investments then £10,000
It's not the actual amount, it's the thought. She knows you and your financial situation I guess so go with that in mind
