Looking a bit more hopeful for September! Really not keen on having to wear masks in the heat, but will if we have to - we are just desperate to get back!

Now just need the borders to open - please ...

I'm being cautiously optimistic.

Sounds great on paper, just a little worried about the slight downturn in uptake on vaccinations (according to some media outlets).

Also worth noting the Phase 3 criteria is based on an ‘and/or’ for 70% first shot ‘and/or’ 5% 14 day positivity rate.

At the moment Orange County 14 day positivity rate is 7% with a 0.95 infection rate so the trend is downwards (at the moment). They could potentially hit the 5% positivity rate before the 70% first shot.

Are they vaccinating kids in the US.
The T&Cs for the UK Disney cruises is a negative PCR test within 5 days of departure for under 18's, I assume it'll be something similar to fly because it is unlikely under 16's will be vaccinated in the next few months. Not sure if you would have to quarantine for the first 5 days and then have another test (I think that was a rule somewhere at some point) but I wouldn't fancy spending the first 5 days of our holiday in the apartment

If they continue at the current rate, the 50% would be reached in around 3 weeks, and 70% at the end of July. But the current trend of vaccinations is slowing, so it's likely they'll be a little longer than this. Also a worry they won't ever reach 70%, so the % of positive tests of 5% will come into play.
Grant this is an amazing post

If everything you've said comes to fruition, you will be added to my personal and exclusive DIBB Hall of Fame!

We go in September as well and I'm sure that Disney would like the Happy Place to be safely mask free as soon as possible to ensure visitors return.

Pfizer is applying for emergency authorisation in the US to use it on children after tests showed 100% protection.

The are applying next week for use in Europe.

Lets hope this is possible. Going by the number of people I have seen interviewed that have said they wont get the vaccine.
