Supervised pre-departure tests - early morning appointment needed
Hello, we will be travelling to LHR by train the afternoon on the day prior to our flight. DS is in primary school so will try to get a train time for once school has finished for the day, but this means we will need to test early in the morning before he starts school.
I’d rather do it this way instead of wait for him to finish, test and then get the train, as we will already be arriving at LHR gone 10pm even if we leave straight after school (we’re in Cornwall so a long old journey!) Has anyone booked an early supervised appointment? We live next to the school so could be as late as 8:30, about 8am would be ideal though. The alternative is to pick him up early from school but he’s already having 7 days off so I’d rather avoid any further disruption for him & his teacher! Thanks so much ☺️ |

If it disrupts the teacher (as the OP says it will) it will by default also disrupt his entire class, the kids may not notice if the teacher is any good, but their collaborative education is always impacted when some are not there (whether that be for illness or vacation)
I know the government isn't very good at keeping schools open for kids to attend these past few years, but it is still the expected norm that holidays happen in school holidays and that your child should attend at other times |

Looking at your countdown OP I really wouldn't be worrying about testing yet.
Hopefully it won't be necessary by then. Edited at 10:12 AM. |
