Newport bay compass club, free breakfast but half board DDP?

sorry if this is obvious but i've never stayed on Disney property before, Im looking at booking newport bay compass club rooms for next year, and it looks like this comes with free breakfast, but its already a free half board for booking through the mouse? Am I at risk of paying twice for the same thing?

Sorry again if this is a bonehead question, I'm a bonehead

Pretty much, if you're getting free half board I probably wouldn't bother with compass club unless you think it's worth having a separate room for breakfast and the other perks you get for club level.

Is the free breakfast that is on offer a buffet or the grab and go option?

I appreciate things may have changed again but when we went in July 2017 and stayed Compass Club, we still got the vouchers for the free grab and go breakfast when we checked in. We tended to go to Compass Club for a proper breakfast before going to the parks and then using the grab and go vouchers at about 10.30 for a snack and drink. By doing this and then then heading back for the afternoon tea, we often didnít need lunch as well.

Grab and go has gone. As of now, all dining plans, whether paid or free, include full buffet breakfast at your hotel.
