we went to Prague in early March and absolutely loved it. It would be absolutely beautiful in summer and being able to sit in their pavement cafes with a cold beer watching the world go by is my idea of bliss. Very inexpensive outside the main square as well.

Seville is beautiful, loads to see and do and amazing restaurants. I`m not sure how hot it would be in August though
Another vote here for Berlin or Budapest which were both amazing
Bilbao is on my husbands wish list, that looks to be a great place to go.

Sorrento was beautiful, Vesuvius, Capri, Herculaneum, Pompei, positano al in close proximity easily done with public transport.
Sorrento itself was delightful, lots of good restaurants and quaint streets. I would love to go again.

Krakow for me. Lovely city centre with plenty of bars and restaurants. Loads to see, Auschwitz, Salt Mines and Schindler's Factory to name only a few.

Another vote for Stockholm. Also like Copenhagen and Munich. Helsinki is very different - language is not similar to anything have come across before and you cant even guess. Liked it but not top of list to return. oh, and you can buy bear meat in markets/butchers shops! not that i did or would but just another example of how very different it is.

My son has just got back from a few weeks in Europe and said that Ljubljana is good for a short break and close enough for a trip to Lake Bled. He also loved Budapest.

Other places that we have really liked are Rome & Amsterdam. We did Iceland with a car for 3 or 4 nights and it’s stunning. I quite fancy trying the Scandinavian countries.

I've been to Sweden and Norway, they are such lovely countries. I would highly recommend them!
