Anchors Norway - Day 6, Gerainger

Words and pictures will not do justice to Gerainger.

We were up before 6am to watch our arrival in the fjord from the front of deck 10. There was some patchy low cloud and mist in places, but it was an amazing experience watching us sail through the fjord.

It was quite a cold wind and we needed to take some hoods up action to avoid the cold.

They were serving hot drinks and savouries - Tracey had a scrambled egg and pepper croissant.
We then went behind the screen to warm up, having hot chocolate and Danish pastries.

We sailed past the seven sisters waterfall and saw another cruise ship appearing out of the mist.

As we reached the end of the fjord we could see the village of Gerainger before us.

The ship turned and we went to get some breakfast while they brought out the floating landing stage for us to disembark.

The weather was sunny and we weren't sure if we would need our coats but we took them with us.

When we had disembarked we had photo with one of the locals before having a look in the gift shop and then went to the tourist information office with our receipt to collect our bus tour tickets.

We had taken our coats off now because it was so warm.

We had about an hour before the bus so we walked toward the waterfall not planning to climb it.

Tracey kept going up a few more steps until we were quite a way up. We put our coats back on and it was just as well that we did because we got soaked from the spray of the waterfall.

We made our way back down and went to wait for the bus. It headed out of town to let us off at a viewpoint

It then headed back through the town and out in the opposite direction to the Eagle Road viewpoint. The views were absolutely stunning

We returned to the town and the ship where we got lunch at cabanas sitting at a table outside with a view of the village and mountains.

We spent the afternoon at the pool while Megan was off with her friends.

As we were getting ready for dinner the ship set sail and we saw the seven sisters again from the window of our room.

Dinner was at Lumieres tonight where Tracey and I had prosciutto with cheese and sun dried tomatoes and then Boston Bibb salad. Tracey and Megan both had breaded chicken with tagliatelle for main and I had sirloin and chips. Tracey's meal was a little dry which she told Tiago and Jay about.

For dessert we all had chocolate lava cake and ice cream

We called at the future cruise desk after dinner to get a price for a 4 night Bahamian cruise for next August.
