WDW October 2017 Trip Report Part 2
So the first morning I woke up at 4am. Couldn't sleep so got myself up and dressed and waited for the sun to come up so I could see the view from the balcony. Wow - when I opened the curtains, my concerns about the room location were alleviated as I saw giraffe, zebra and you name it gracefully walking past our balcony. I must admit I think I shed a Disney tear or two! After a snack credit breakfast, it was time for our DVC appointment at Kidani Village. We didn't realise how far it was from Jambo House until we started walking! We went into the tour with some prior knowledge and research, and didn't feel pressured. We took away the info and will have a long think about it - watch this space! We were also given 3 FPs to use each which was a nice perk. We then headed to Disney Springs. This was the first time seeing it since the improvements, and I loved it! After a fantastic lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express, we had our first attempt at upgrading to annual passes. We were told there would be a wait of 1 hour so we decided to leave it for now, and do a bit of shopping. We got back to our room for a freshen up before our Jiko reservation. Jiko was virtually empty when we went in. We had an indredible meal! Both of us agreed it was probably the best food we'd ever had, at least for a long time. Hubby had steak, and I had the ancient grains. We finiahed up within an hour at a leisurely pace, and got the bus over to Animal Kingdom. First up was RoL, my first viewing. What a heartwarming and magical show! I think I welled up many a time watching it. The music is phenomenal. Then the highlight of the day: FoP! We now had the in-laws in tow, and they're not into anything remotely thrilling, so I answered the many questions they had about it. I think the key thing was answering their question about if it was fast. I said it may feel it, but you don't actually go anywhere. This was enough to persuade them, and we used our FPs to head on in. Simply said, it's the best attraction i've ever experienced, hands down. I knew instantly I'd want to do it again, so I was pleased i'd booked another FP for the following day. We all loved it. By the time we got back to the room, we totally crashed out - and this was meant to be the 'lazy day'! |
