Relaxing at the Grand Floridian

Now for most snapshot (social media/small screen) photography this isn't going to cause any issues because of the size of the sensor and the focal length of the lenses (circa 4mm) and the phones on cameras are designed for just this. However as soon as you start wanting to print anything the quality of the lenses / sensors I soon find themselves to be poor in comparison to a £150 compact, and lenses on phones are way more prone to picking up finger marks through general handling. A camera on your phone is always going to be the best one for you if you have a heavy camera you don't take anywhere due to bulk or weight, and if you never print and only use for social media posting then it'll probably be fine. For me though nope no true optical zoom, no true aperture control, small sensors and cheap lens construction all make for poor image quality at print stage and I print photos of everything I want to keep in case I ever have a complete computer failure and loose everything |
