Buying tickets from Disney website

Hi

On our upcoming visit we are only planning on visiting 2 parks plus 1 water park. It looks like our best option is the 2 day Park Hopper plus. I was going to purchase these through the Disney US site. I believe you receive ‘paper passes’ which can be used to book FP’s.
When we get to the first park - can these paper passes be exchanged for ‘real’ tickets? If so, Will any FP’s booked also be transferred to the real tickets?

You won't get paper passes. You'll get an email. I suppose you can print out that email if that's what you meant? There's a reference number underneath the barcode in the email which you can use to link to your MyDisneyExperience account so that you can prebook fastpasses.

You have to collect 'real' plastic cards in order to enter the parks - you can't use the printed out email. You take the email to the Will Call ticket booths at the entrance to any of the parks, show them the email and ID, and pick up your plastic card.

Both the emailed tickets and the plastic card will be linked to your MyDisneyExperience account. That account will hold your prebooked fastpasses. Swapping the email for a plastic card does not change anything regarding your fastpasses. You can use the plastic card to access those fastpasses.

Ah thanks - that makes sense. It’s been years since we’ve purchased tickets directly from Disney - just wanted to be prepared!
