We are staying at st Pete's beach for 1 week from 18th August, My husband and 2 boys are sports mad, I would like to get them tickets to a game of some sort be it basket ball baseball or American foot ball. My trouble is I'm totally clueless in this type of thing firstly what sport is August the season for and which one should I be looking at getting, what team would be nearest to us at st Pete's and where would I buy tickets from. TIA sorry but I really have no idea 🤔

Tampa Bay Rays is the baseball team and has home games during your week. Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the American Football team and has a pre-season game at home that week. Orlando City is the local Major League Soccer team, with a home game during your stay. Tampa Bay Rowdies is a minor league soccer team with a game on the 25th.
All these teams have their own web sites with full details of their games, stadium etc and you purchase tickets online through the club web site - usually the official agent you will be using is Ticketmaster (don't use unofficial sources).

The Tampa bay rays baseball team have a home game every night from the 20th to the 26th August, you can buy tickets through the MLB website, have a look at travelzoo.com as well as the sometimes have 50% off offers for Rays tickets on there website, I got ours through their site last year. There is also offers on like kids under 14 get in for $2 on Tuesday's.

If you wanted to go minor league baseball there is an deal on groupon.com for the Dunedin Blue Jays which are about 40 minutes drive north of St Pete's past Clearwater, the offer is 4 tickets and 4 hot dogs for $18 but the only home game they have during your stay is on the 19th.

See you in St Pete's we arrive there the same day as you but for 4 nights.
