Been to POR twice, never been bitten there but was bitten once in animal kingdom. Not sure if mosquito or horsefly but I did react to it.

As a precaution for going in August I will be taking repellent probably jungle formula for any evening outing.

Apparently mosquitoes are drawn to carbon dioxide and Disney actually monitor the mosquitoes by trapping them in nets and seeing which species they are. Then they treat the areas twice a day.

There are markers in your DNA that decide if you are tasty to mosquitoes. They have killed more people than any other living thing with malaria transmission! That part was on Veritasium on YouTube (nerdy science videos which I love.)

I got bit at POR whilst waiting for the water taxi, it was a bloody big mozzie as well, I never get bit so was v.suprised 😂

we stayed at pofq last sept when the hurricane Irma came and got bit all over the back of my legs, had to buy the mozzie spray in Jackson shop as we did not have the free spray in the room, but they had it in the parks which I used to cover myself in it
