Mobile Using a Pre-paid card for Laundry

Long time lurker, first time poster! Firstly I want to say what a massive help this forum has been - we’ve been to WDW lots of times but just booked our first on-site stay. Went from just looking out of interest to choosing a resort, dining plan and booking in the space of a weekend all with info from here.

Right my question is which pre-paid card is best to use in the on-site washing machines and how much do they cost? Usually stay in a villa but I like to pack light so will need to wash a few times.

Ive used a Post Office Travel card and a Caxton card. Both worked fine. The Disney laundry rooms currently charge $3 per machine. Thats for 1 washing machine cycle or an hour in the dryer.

Is the charge relatively new?

I'm sure every time I've used them in the past at Saratoga Springs, it's been free to use.

There was just a charge to buy the detergent from the vending machine.

It was free at OKW too - so i'm guessing it's free at DVC resorts, but charges at others?

This is correct. None DVCs charge. The 1,2 and 3 bed villas of course have their own washers and dryers in the room, the free machines are offered for the studio guests.

Edited at 05:53 PM.
