for the first time in... 21 years!

Hello there everyone! Only just recently joined this forum but am truly loving all the tips, advice and following trip reports so I figured I would join in and report our trip, so here we go with our pre-trip report!

Firstly i shall introduce our Disney bound crew! There's me, Leanne, 35 and single mummy to the hilarious Ethan who is 8. I have been to Disney World before but this is Ethan's first time! Also living the Disney life with us is my mum Tracy, 55, and as cheesy as it sounds, she is my best friend!

I went to Disney World with my mum and grandparents... 21 years ago! We stayed at All Star Music back then, it was a brilliant holiday and I have always hoped that one day we would return to the magic!

We had spoke about taking this trip, but had thought maybe when Ethan was about 10 or 11, but then the last couple of years have pushed us into the "life is too short " frame of mind. Mum had a heart scare, Ethan had a terrible time with an infection that hospitalised him (we nearly lost him) and I had a series of strokes which have left me with some long term health issues, my health issues will progressively get worse over time and so we decided to take this trip now, seize the day!

We head off to Florida in 5 weeks time, July 28th flying from Manchester on the 10am flight! We made our booking last August, with around 360 days to go! We have booked with TUI and we are staying 10 nights at All Star Sports. We wanted to stay at a Disney resort as we won't have a car and so the transport suits us, plus we wanted to do the full Disney thing as it is Ethan's first trip! We have the free breakfast offer (which we know is a general quick service credit for any time during the day! )

We started buying things as soon as we had booked, we hit up primark and the disney store and Disney themed clothing and accessories were bought, our friend also bought us all some ears back from her Disney trip. So we have been pretty organised, well to be honest I love to plan, since my stroke I am quite ocd about planning things and go in depth with research etc...just the way my brain is wired now i guess!

Ethan has been watching youtube videos to see all the rides, he has no interest in rollercoasters or anything like SDMT/Everest/TowerOfTerror etc... He may change his mind once he sees some of those kind of rides, but he's made a huge list of the rides he does want to go on and is thrilled we got all the fastpasses we wanted (pandora and toy story land included! )

I am the one who has planned the trip out, mum says "just tell me each night what we are doing the next day! ", have loved watching vlogs and using various forums to get all the tips! I have posted our itinerary in the relevant section on here!

We have already said we hope to return in 2021 for the 50th year anniversary (health permitting) and so we will be exploring more of the area then and including Universal etc... but for now this is a full on Disney World trip... although Ethan's other "must see" is Target!

We have booked a character breakfast at Tusker House, breakfast at Be Our Guest, and lunches at T-Rex and Sci-Fi Diner!

We have pretty much everything we need now, just a few more final bits to be picked up and then we are ready to go!

I look forward to sharing the rest of our trip with you, and also reading up on everyone else's trips! x x x

These last few days the excitement has well and truly started to take control, ordering the last few bits and pieces we need and finalising our plans, so unbelievably excited now! It may be a long time since my previous trip but i fully remember how magical felt and i can't wait for my own child to experience it all! x x x

I hope you all have a fantastic time! I am having my first visit in 22 years shortly after you, and it is everyone else in the family's first visit so will be good to hear some tips from a fellow first time this century-er!
