Which European city for a mini break?
Hi all, my birthday is coming up in August, my boyfriend has asked me for suggestions as he would like to take me away for a long weekend roughly 4/5 nights. But I'm not too sure where to go. I've always wanted to go to Rome or Venice, but was wondering if anyone has any other recommendations?

Lucky you! Exciting have something to look forward to. Loads to do in Rome. Personally for me, I'd find Rome too hot in August!
I've enjoyed city breaks to Berlin, Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm. Closer to home, I enjoy visiting Edinburgh. Further away, I love visiting Boston (if u are thinking about long haul)! In November we are off to Barcelona What do you like to do? Where have u been before? Edited at 10:44 AM. |

So I have done quite a lot of countries, as I used to be cabin crew for BA. We don't want long haul, as we have already done NY this year, and have Mexico at the end of the year, so looking for somewhere a bit closer.
We definitely want abroad and warm, with things to do and see! As Mexico is going to be a chilled holiday! but as you said Rome might be too hot.

Bilbao is a great city break, loads to do & great food / welcoming locals
Rome is a great city dead easy to cover on foot, Venice in August potentially hot crowded and a bit wiffy... Prague or Paris would also get my vote |

Berlin is amazing, so much to see and such a good vibe with great places to eat and drink - love it! DH loves Copenhagen and Lisbon and I've friends who love Krakow. My bucket list includes Rome and Geneva and Budapest.

There are some great cities in Europe, we are spoilt for choice. If you are doing 4/5 days then I'd consider Milan for a couple and then an hour away Lake Orta for a couple too...
