The statues became a bit of an obsession!
At least the museum was free Hopefully the hoody will find its way home (currently in a suitcase somewhere! )

As a Spanish speaker I call shenanigans on your professor as regards Hispanic languages and "tr".
The Spanish word for three is "tres" - and there are hundreds (thousands?) of Spanish words that begin with two consonants. Hmm... Ah! The Butter People! We saw a group of McGill students (I assume) recreating their poses right next to them. I do love the public art in Montreal...even when it's crap. Fenetre sur L'Avenir reminds me of the hideous sculptures alongside the autoroutes... We call this one ^^^ (near Lyon) "The Tuning Fork". Though I'm sure it has a proper, pretentious name like "The Struggle of Man" or something like that. But seriously, I think all the public art means that one really can spend a whole day just walking around Montreal looking at art. Free art! Yay! I think our favourites were: Les Racines Gauloises This spinny one: The Butter People (but of course!): And these ads for chicken: Sorry to be so slow...but you know I am faithful! |

I hear you about motorway art There is one on,I think, the way down to Narbonne - three sails. I always see it and think “and”!
Have you seen the press today about the monstrosity that they call art that they have put on Carcassonne? Simply dreadful! The castle itself is enough n’est pas? I really enjoyed the statues! It is amazing how much you miss otherwise! Ahh - chicken ads. A whole different universe! 🐓 Slow is fine Getting on a bit now, I rarely do fast anymore!

The first time R.C. took me down to France, we were driving in the Southwest and he said, "OK...just close your eyes now. I'll tell you when to open them."
Me: Hmm... Him: And...now! And there was Carcassonne. It was just so...perfect. Obviously in the lower town and inside the walls no so much - but still. I don't think THIS: ...is what people dream about when they dream about visiting Carcassonne. Bad Art is like Bad Jazz. Just because you CAN do something with a guitar doesn't mean you should. |

Horrendous isn’t it? And how much was someone paid?
We have F’s Spanish correspondant coming at the end of the month and one of the day trips is there! Totally not right!
