My stomach is rumbling now!
Flexitarian I as wondering if Andy would still be vegan
Some good Mother’s Day drinks there!

I've only just found that this report was here, I was looking in the general trip report section!

Fantastic food and drink so far, really excited for the rest of the NOLA section. I love the look of the shark attack - do you keep the shark? Like a souvenir glass with a difference?!

It was fun. But not very sensible

The flexitarian term for Andy is brilliant! It’s the perfect description.

Shula’s looks amazing! Gotta love a fillet steak with a loaded baked potato. And lots of lovely cocktails too. How was the head on Monday morning?
They are fab seats
Shulas was good but Longhorns in Orlando may possibly have been better ...

Oh and my head was ok, it was everywhere else that wasn't

Ah bless you. I wil put the trippy in that section but you will be there by then
Yes you keep the shark ... And the gator it "eats". They do a great little routine when you buy one . I won't spoil it for you but it will make you laugh

Orleans Grapevine WineBar and Bistro

It would be fair to say I was a tad tipsy on arrival here. Just merry you understand.

It's true my eyes were going in different directions but I hadn't fallen off or over anything yet which I regarded as a personal triumph

The bar has the fantastic feature of being directly opposite our hotel. Literally. So not far to get home.
Which was good.

We sat at the bar as even this early ( 6.30) it was full.

No cocktails. I was on water and Diet Coke ( stable door and horse Spring to mind here )

Yummy bread . Of course the idea is to carb up before you drink right ?

We had bacon wrapped scallops and the baked Brie with garlic sauce. These were yum

I'm impressed with myself that I got any of the good in these photos!
We were chatting to a couple who just got engaged and who were determined to share their oysters with us

Well that did it for me. Unfortunately, as they say over here, I had to dash off to the ladies for an impending " reversal" experience.

Thus missing out on the steak and lobster which I am told was lovely.

And the bill

It is a lovely place. We did go back.
However for the rest of the evening, I was in that spinning room nightmare .. That will teach me

The Old Coffee Pot, St Peter St

It's true I *may* have been a bit feeble this morning

I wasnt sure I could cope with a cooked breakfast but definitely needed toast and coffee

St Peter Street is only the next street over so not far to walk. It was very cold today so half way there we turned back to put on some warmer clothes !

It's a very small place so we were lucky to get a seat straight away.

No breakfast cocktails today !
Lots of strong coffee.

I had the Lost toast and lots of toast with it.

Very sweet !

Andy had one of the muffin/ egg/ hollandaise combos

Full on 50s Prime Time in here with servers disagreeing (loudly) over who had the table in the corner .. And another scolding some young college students for not finishing their food. Toast and a show .. Great start to the day

Fuddruckers Harrahs Casino, Canal street

We were starving after our morning yomp around Algiers, unsuccessfully visiting Mardi Gras World (one for the trippy).

We pitched up at the casino. I'm not even sure if you can take pics in here , I sneaked one though from the ladies

I needed full on carbs so went for loaded fries.
Andy had a mahoosive burger and wedges

And then we hit the slots and tables. Not literally you understand. That would be painful

Orleans Grapevine

By the time we we were ready for dinner, everywhere was packed out with long lines waiting to get in so it was a return here for a seat at the bar.

No cocktails today, just Diet Coke.
We had enjoyed the baked Brie so much , we had that again and then shared the beef medallions and crab cakes appetisers.

And the key lime pie to go

This place is so great. The food is totally delicious
