When I started my report I was in LA and just realised for that part I'm talking in the present tense! Oh well...

They weren't as bad as they were when we flew out, because I had those compression socks on for a good 24 hours, when I woke up on the morning on the day we were leaving I couldn't be bothered taking them off only to put them on a few hours later, they were a nightmare to get on! I had an aisle seat coming home, I got up and about a lot more often but they were still swollen, I could feel them expanding.

The socks worked great at night though, I would take them off in the morning and my calves were like jelly, all lovely and jiggly, but by the end of each day they would expand, double in size and they were rock hard, I would feel horrendous too, so dizzy, and that feeling like you are walking on sponges...not nice!

I've been fine since I came home, no dizziness or any swelling. I actually said to DH a week after we got back, look at how small my ankles are now, and he couldn't believe it, he said he never realised how bad they actually were until he saw how small my ankles are naturally. Shows how much attention he pays to my ankles!

Just to note, this severity of my legs has only ever happened to me on flights 10 hours or more, for us that's been twice to Vegas. I do get a little swelling on shorter flights. From now on I will always wear them wherever we fly to.
