Best Dining Option to meet the characters?

Where is everyone's favourite dining option where you get to meet the most characters?

Also, if I manage to get it booked for my sons birthday, would they arrange a birthday cake? I had a cake organised for him at Newport Bay in Paris last year so hoping we can do it this year in Orlando.

Any recommendations anyone?

How many characters at the meals is fairly static. Around 4-5 usually.

What types of characters where you wanting?

Princesses (with or without Princes)

Pooh and Friends

Stitch and Friends

The Gang (Mickey et al)

Disney Jnr characters

I've got three character breakfasts booked - Tusker House, Garden Grill and Crystal Palace. I don't like meeting 'face' characters as I never know what to say to them! With 'fur' characters you can just have a hug

The amount of characters at a meal is 3-4 generally. For classic characters my favourites are Cape May Cafe, Tusker House and Garden Grill breakfasts. Crystal Palace breakfast on the first morning is our tradition. That’s pooh bear and friends. We did the happily ever after dinner at 1900 Park Fare last trip which was outstanding. Cinderella, Prince C, stepsisters and stepmother

As others have said, the amount of characters is generally the same. It's not like at other Disney properties (e.g. DLR) where there's loads at one venue and only a couple at another. Only exception I can think if is BOG dinner as you only meet the Beast.

So I'd go by what characters you want to meet since that's what varies.

Ditto on fur vs face, although Garden Grill is the only one I book. C&D are the only characters that are a must do meet for me, the interaction is always so fun.

I've done Crystal Palace, Garden Grill and CRT. By far my favourite was Garden Grill - I went at around 1.30pm for lunch, so by then the restaurant was fairly empty. The restaurant is also pretty small, so there aren't that many tables there. Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto kept coming out and going around and around and around and because they weren't in a rush to go from table to table, they really took a lot of time to interact with everyone there. Either Chip or Dale did an impromptu table drumming solo, one of them started rearranging chairs, another one of them decided to stand behind me and see how long it would take before I realised he was there (I got a shock and he was so amused)... I think it was Pluto that then played Peekaboo with a kid at another table. Mickey came round a few times and one time he mimed dipping my fries into the mac/cheese to tell me to try that! Best character interaction ever. (My experiences at Crystal Palace and CRT were limited to just seeing the characters and taking a photo before they moved on...)

Are there any CMs with the characters at Garden Grill? I'm going on a solo trip and want to have photos taken with them and was thinking about asking CMs to take them for me. If not, I'll very nicely ask other visitors to take some.
