we were hoping that we could do something like this. I just wish that they could pool a families airmiles together, it'd be so much easier. the kids (5 & 7) have their own flying club miles so i am guessing i'd have to book all flights separately in order to use everyone's miles?

This is the kind of thing that FC can sort out over the phone rather than online.
Never done it myself as all of our miles were earned using the black card rather than flights (haven't earned a single VS mile through flights ) so they're all on DH's account. But have heard from others that it is possible. |

Check regularly pdcdad and be ready to grab seats. In May 2015, pre VA's site updates, I booked Nov 2015 UC reward seats to Fl, the supervising agent placed on our accounts that VA would link the return so we only paid taxes and fees as if we'd booked a return from the outset - VA won't do this now. Based on when our outward became available I took a rough guess that our May 2016 return UC reward seats wouldn't be available for quite a while, possibly October. It came as a pleasant surprise when the only two UC rewards for our return date popped up on the 24th June (day after the referendum!) whilst I was on VA's site. I rang and was immensely lucky they hadn't been snapped up... booked them very quickly

Thank you I’m tracking them on a daily basis basically to keep an eye on the price of the flights we have to pay for but also on the reward flights. The flight price tends to be ridiculous on the day they come out £1300 then the next day drop to £600 !
I’m intending to grab them as soon as the lower price shows you all have been so helpful . |
