Mobile BA and Avis: still to pay

Hi

I booked a fly drive from BA and downloaded the Avis app for the preferred program. My car rental shows £389 to pay on collection? I have just recently paid the balance of our holidays.

Would it disappear in a few day? I don’t want to turn up and be asked for any money

Lots of Dibbers experience this - including us last year. With us the actual BA voucher discharges the debt between BA and Avis.

Were you ok when you turned up at Avis?

The money is owed, technically, by BA until you hand over the voucher. It happens all the time and is nothing to worry about.

Yes no issues at all. Your car will be pre-allocated but if you don't like it you can pick from a swap line if you've booked Intermediate and above.

You can go straight to the garage by the way with Preferred and avoid the desk in the terminal.

You do need to link your booking though between BA and Avis Preferred. I can't honestly remember how I did it. I either rang Avis in the UK and asked them to link my car hire with the BA flight - or the other way round. Wrong side of 70 - struggling to remember what I had for breakfast let alone a phone call a year ago.

Either way it was a call lasting a couple of minutes and very straightforward.

I did that a while ago thanks Mick. I was just worried they wouldn’t release the car without handing some money over

I linked mine when I booked the flydrive through BA. It then automatically appeared in my Avis preferred account.

My booking is showing on the Avis app so I’m guessing it’s linked right?
